Abstract

The system in this research was designed using sensor nodes and server nodes. Sensor nodes and server nodes are a unified system with an integrated monitoring system with multiple data channels for data communication. With this system, the success rate of sending data to server can be increased. This research was carried out by designing and testing a prototype river survface monitoring system based on a wireless sensor network with multiple data channels. The system consists of sensor nodes and server nodes. The sensor node has an ultrasonic sensor and will detect changes in the level of the river surface and then the measurement data is sentvia a data channel with the SIM800L module and the Lora module. The server node receives data through the lora module and the internet network and then the data will be stored in the sensor node database. The test results for measuring the height of the river surface, the percent error is 2.14%. againts the absolute value of measurment and the average absolute maximum measurement error is 15 cm at a river level of 20 cm. Test on the SIM800L sensor node communication obtained an average connection to servers from two location of around 40 milliseconds and data transmission of around 500 milliseconds. Testing communication with the lora module with lora module with the closest measuring distance of 14 meters, the delay in sending data is an average of 148.5 milliseconds, and with the longest distance measuring 146 meters, the average delay is 149.5 milliseconds.
