Journal Focus

Jurnal Penelitian is a peer-reviewed, open-access, multidisciplinary scholarly journal published by Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya, Indonesia. The journal publishes original research and scholarly contributions in applied sciences, engineering, technology, education, social sciences, and related interdisciplinary fields.

The journal aims to advance scientific knowledge, promote methodological rigor, encourage evidence-based innovation, and facilitate the application of research findings to technological development, education, industry, public services, and society.

While maintaining a particular interest in aviation, transportation, safety, and vocational education, Jurnal Penelitian welcomes contributions from broader academic disciplines. Direct relevance to aviation is not a mandatory requirement, provided that a manuscript demonstrates clear scholarly relevance, scientific originality, and a meaningful contribution to its respective field.

Scope of the Journal

Jurnal Penelitian welcomes research contributions within the following areas, including but not limited to the topics described below.

1. Aviation and Transportation Studies

Aviation engineering; communication, navigation, and surveillance (CNS); airport engineering and operations; aircraft maintenance; aviation safety; aviation management; transportation systems; mobility; and logistics.

2. Engineering and Applied Technology

Electrical, mechanical, electronic, industrial, and systems engineering; automation; instrumentation; embedded systems; Internet of Things; engineering design; and applied technological innovation.

3. Education and Learning Sciences

Vocational and professional education; educational technology; instructional design; curriculum development; teaching and learning innovation; educational assessment; psychometrics; and learning evaluation.

4. Information Systems and Digital Innovation

Applied computer science; information systems; software engineering; artificial intelligence applications; computer vision; data analytics; intelligent systems; cybersecurity applications; and digital transformation.

5. Human Factors, Ergonomics, and Occupational Safety

Human performance; cognitive and physical ergonomics; workplace design; occupational health and safety; risk assessment; human-system interaction; and safety management.

6. Management, Business, and Public Policy

Organizational management; human resource management; public administration; policy analysis; service management; entrepreneurship; and evidence-based organizational decision-making.

7. Social Sciences, Language, and Humanities

Applied social research; communication studies; applied linguistics; English for specific purposes; language education; social behavior; cultural studies; and critical discourse analysis.

Manuscript Suitability

Submitted manuscripts must demonstrate scientific originality, a clearly formulated research problem, appropriate methodological procedures, and a substantive contribution to academic knowledge or professional practice.

Interdisciplinary research is particularly encouraged when it integrates relevant theories, methodologies, or applications from different disciplines.

The journal considers original research articles, review articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, scoping reviews, conceptual or theoretical articles, and case studies that meet its editorial requirements.

All submissions are subject to initial editorial screening for relevance, originality, research quality, ethical compliance, and conformity with the journal's author guidelines. Manuscripts substantially outside the journal's stated scope may be declined without external peer review.

Manuscripts must be prepared in English using the current official journal template and must comply with the applicable author guidelines and publication ethics policies.
