About Publishing System
Journal of Public Transportation Community (JPTC), E-ISSN 2808-3393, is published by the Center for Research and Community Service, Politeknik Penerbangan Surabaya. The journal is managed and published using Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3, an open-source journal management and publishing platform developed by the Public Knowledge Project (PKP). All stages of the editorial process, from submission, screening, peer review and revision to copyediting, production and publication, are handled online through this system, so authors can follow the status of their manuscripts at any time through their OJS dashboard.
Editorial and Publishing Workflow

- Submission. Authors register an account and submit their manuscript online through OJS using the JPTC article template.
- Initial screening. The Editor checks the manuscript's suitability with the Focus and Scope, compliance with the journal template, and completeness of the submitted files.
- Similarity check. Every manuscript is checked with Turnitin. Manuscripts with a similarity index above 20% are returned to the author or rejected, in line with the Plagiarism and Retraction Policy.
- Double-blind peer review. The manuscript is assessed by at least two reviewers with relevant expertise within 2–4 weeks. See the Peer Review Process.
- Editorial decision. The Editor-in-Chief decides to accept, request minor or major revision, or reject the manuscript based on the reviewers' recommendations.
- Revision. Authors submit the revised manuscript with a response letter within 30 days. Manuscripts with major revisions may undergo a further round of review.
- Copyediting. Accepted manuscripts are edited for language, style and references, and the author approves the copyedited version.
- Production. The layout editor prepares the final PDF galley, which is proofread together with the author.
- Publication. Articles are published online with immediate open access, assigned a Crossref DOI, and distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license.
