Peer Review Process
Every article submitted to Jurnal Penelitian undergoes a double-blind peer review, in which the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed from each other. This process ensures the scientific quality, originality, and relevance of the published manuscripts.
Stages of the Peer Review Process
The process runs through nine stages, from the first submission to publication:
1Manuscript Submission
The author submits the manuscript through the OJS system.
2Initial Check by the Editor
The editor checks the completeness of the manuscript, its suitability to the journal’s scope, and compliance with the author guidelines.
3Plagiarism Check
The manuscript is screened using plagiarism detection software. The maximum similarity limit is 25%.
4Reviewer Assignment
The editor assigns at least two expert reviewers in the field to review the manuscript.
5Review Process
Reviewers assess the manuscript on originality, methodology, results, discussion, and scientific contribution.
6Editor’s Decision
Based on the reviewers’ reports, the editor reaches one of the decisions listed under Editorial Decisions below.
7Author Revisions
The author revises the manuscript according to the feedback from the reviewers and the editor.
8Final Decision
The editor verifies the revisions and makes the final decision.
9Publication
Accepted manuscripts are published online.
Editorial Decisions
The stages above represent one round of the peer review process. The Editor in Chief and the editorial board weigh the reviewers’ feedback carefully before reaching a decision. The possible outcomes are:
Accepted as it isThe manuscript is accepted for publication in its original form.
Accepted with Minor RevisionsThe manuscript is accepted, and the author is asked to make small corrections within a specified timeframe.
Accepted with Major RevisionsThe manuscript is accepted, but the author must address the changes suggested by the reviewers and/or editors within a specified timeframe.
Resubmit (Conditional Rejection)The journal is open to reconsidering the manuscript in another round of decision-making after the authors make significant revisions.
Rejected (Outright Rejection)The journal decides not to publish the manuscript, even if major revisions are made.
