https://ejournal.poltekbangsby.ac.id/index.php/approach/article/view/2525

This study aims to examine the Bell 505 helicopter accident in Bali caused by a kite string by analyzing human, technical, and environmental contributing factors. The research employed a qualitative descriptive method through document analysis, including news reports, scientific literature, and aviation safety regulations. The findings indicate that the accident occurred due to limited airspace supervision, low public awareness regarding restrictions on kite activities within the Airport Safety Zone (KKOP), and the absence of effective risk mitigation and communication systems among aviation authorities and operators. This research contributes to aviation safety science by emphasizing the importance of public education, strengthened regulatory enforcement, and improved risk management in helicopter operations, particularly in tourism areas with high environmental interference potential.
Duta FatilaRizqi Maulana FirdausDelmio Ave Maria Guterres de Sousa

https://ejournal.poltekbangsby.ac.id/index.php/approach/article/view/2533

The naming of the Standard Instrument Departure (SID) at Seahorse Airport is a crucial element in the learning process of Aerodrome Control Procedure (ADC) and Approach Control procedure (APP). This study aims to validate the naming of the SID at Seahorse Airport as a learning media for ADC and APP. Although it plays an important role in improving cadets’ understanding and skills, the implementation of SID at the Surabaya Aviation Polytechnic has not been optimal, as cadets still prepare ATC Clearance manually. This research refers to ICAO Doc 4444 on Air Traffic Management and the principles of SID implementation at other airports. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (Analysis – Design – Development – Implementation – Evaluation). A literature review was also conducted to examine the relevance and effectiveness of SID in the context of safety and clear communication in ATC. The results indicate that the designed SID naming has been validated by several experts and has proven effective in enhancing students' understanding. Training simulations using the SID naming show a significant improvement in communication efficiency and students' skills. The SID naming is expected to be integrated into the curriculum to enhance the quality of aviation education.
Avian Yusuf AndreantoJihan Melania RosyidahMeita Maharani SukmaIsyah Fajrih Muhammad

https://ejournal.poltekbangsby.ac.id/index.php/approach/article/view/2530

This study aims to analyze the trend of Human Factor in aircraft accidents in Indonesia during the 2015–2024 period. Human Factor is an essential component of aviation safety because it relates to a person’s ability to make decisions, maintain situational awareness, communicate, and consistently follow procedures. This research uses a quantitative descriptive method with data collection techniques through document study of publicly available accident reports, as well as content analysis to identify Human Factor elements that appear in each case. The obtained data were coded into specific categories such as decision-making errors, loss of situational awareness, communication issues, fatigue, and procedural non-compliance, then calculated based on their frequency to observe patterns of change over the years. The results show that Human Factor remains a significant contributor to aircraft accidents, with an increasing trend in fatigue and decision-making aspects over the last five years. These findings emphasize the need for improved training, procedural oversight, and risk management to reduce the potential for human error in aviation operations in Indonesia
Muhammad Roil BilladAlyssa Brilliani Suryanto SuryantoFarid BaskoroDimas Arya Soeadyfa Fridyatama

https://ejournal.poltekbangsby.ac.id/index.php/approach/article/view/2532

This study aims to Design a prototype of an educational

website called “ICAOEnglish,” developed using Figma as a Learning media for the ICAO English Language Proficiency Test. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE Development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation). The instruments used included a needs Analysis questionnaire, a translational validation sheet by experts, and structured interviews with prospective users. The final product of this study is an educational website prototype named “ICAOEnglish,” which contains materials based on the elements of the ICAO English Language Proficiency test. The results show that the developed website prototype meets user needs based on the needs Analysis, is validated by experts in terms of both content and technical aspects and received positive responses from prospective users after prototype testing. This study is expected to serve as a foundation for further Development of technology-based learning media in aviation education.
Ershanda Ardini PutriYohanes Hariadi Prasetya Ahmad BahrawiLusiana Dewi KusumayatiMeita Maharani SukmaDimas Arya Soeadyfa FridyatamaTaciana Lavinea Braz Naisia
