Abstract
Terminal 3 of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, Tangerang is equipped with modern facilities such as Baggage Handling System (BHS) technology which can be sorted automatically using a barcode on the baggage tag that is scanned by an automatic barcode scanning machine. However, there is baggage that cannot be scanned automatically, which is called lost track baggage.
This study aims to find out the reasons why baggage handling in the Baggage Handling System (BHS) is not optimal so we can find the way to optimize baggage handling in the Baggage Handling System (BHS) so, the number of lost track baggage can be minimized.
With a qualitative descriptive research method, this study uses Miles and Hubberman's Interactive Analysis Model to analyze the data. The data collection was carried out by observation, interviews and documentation techniques.
This research results in problems that cause many baggage being lost track and ways to reduce these problems.
