Abstract

Artikel ini membahas peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi bahasa Inggris penerbangan pada siswa MA Al Hikmah melalui strategi pembelajaran metakognitif. Isu pokok yang diangkat adalah rendahnya kemampuan komunikasi bahasa Inggris di kalangan siswa, yang berdampak pada kesiapan mereka untuk memasuki dunia penerbangan global. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi bahasa Inggris siswa serta meningkatkan kesadaran metakognitif mereka dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain eksperimen. Penelitian dilakukan selama enam bulan dengan melibatkan dua kelompok siswa: kelompok eksperimen yang menerapkan strategi metakognitif dan kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test dan post-test untuk mengukur perkembangan kemampuan komunikasi bahasa Inggris siswa. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan signifikan pada kemampuan komunikasi bahasa Inggris kelompok eksperimen, dengan rata-rata skor pre-test 65, meningkat menjadi 85 pada post-test. Sebaliknya, kelompok kontrol hanya mengalami peningkatan dari 64 menjadi 70. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa strategi pembelajaran metakognitif efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi bahasa Inggris penerbangan siswa, serta dapat dijadikan model untuk pengajaran bahasa Inggris di sekolah-sekolah lain.
